Littlefield Grid’s 4th Anniversary Celebrations 2017

Today we had our celebrations for our 4th Anniversary.  We had a wonderful turn out of people from the grid and from other grids.

Thank you everyone who contributes to our wonderful grid…Here’s to many many more celebrations.

AUGUST TOUR – DOCTOR WHO SIM –

This build was mainly constructed by Toy McBride with a lot of help along the way from Dirk Mathers, Aaack Aardvark, Ada Wong, Camryn Darkstone & Walter Balazic…a great build is done with friends & passion.

This sim evolves quite a lot, as I think of things I build them, thankfully in Open Sim prims are no limit and there is more freedom to construct wonderful builds.  Please enjoy my homage to Doctor Who which of course is copywrited by BBC my build is purely for educational purposes.

 

4th of July Party 2014

Today on the grid we celebrated 4th of July at our special seasonal party sim – Stonehaven Party Isle.  This is one of the wonderful things about OS software is that you can rez a seasonal sim up for parties!!!  Here are some pictures from the party!!

Grid Maintenance:

Sunday 9th February – the grid was down for the day, with the grid server update. SQL server has it’s own server now for regions. This will increase speed & capacity. We had purchased a new server that was waiting to be used, we try and keep a year ahead of things to keep the grid running smoothly.

Appearance Issues:

OS has decided to fix a glitch, which is causing some issues right now. They are not testing to make sure things are right which is why we have some hiccups at the moment.

We now have avatar physics at the moment ie: bouncy boobs. If you want bouncy boobs Walter has the box to make this happen.

Sometimes with this release you may see somethings slightly off on your avatar, but without this release a lot more people would have been cloudy.

We tested bullet physics, but are now back on ODE it worked fine in the front end but on the back end it caused issues. Bullet has the fix for walking up stairs without a ramp on them, but we had a bug so had to remove it because it was a large memory hole and was crashing sims. So now we are back on ODE.

Firestorm News:

Cinder Biscuits is no longer in the virtual world community. this is not a good thing she was behind the FS viewer code for OS so this is a sad thing for us. so no upgrades etc at the moment for OS Firestorm. We still have a connection with Jessica Lyon and she will try and do some upgrades for OS as she can. We will support Firestorm still plus you can use Cool Viewer & Singularity, but Darkstorm is not to be used on our grid, copybot viewers are not to be used if you are seen using it you will be automatically banned. Ash has implemented a wonderful feature for our grid to prevent people removing content from our grid, they cannot hypergrid away with out content now. The items will disappear when they HG back to their grid and they will most likely crash on return. Well done Ash 🙂

We are happy to announce we are opening a new public region – Sweethearts

It is a romantic region for dancing and meeting up. It is formal sim, suits & tuxes for men and gowns for women. There are some available in the main building for you to take. We have small gazebos placed around the sim, each has a cuddle bench and dance machine. They are placed so that no one in other gazebos cannot hear you, for some privacy. It is not a sex sim just place to meet and dance etc. There is a stream playing romantic music on the region. There also is a TP button at Littlefield main mall to access the region.

Littlefield Funtime Roller Skate Center located in Littlefield East, (new region still under construction)

One Sunday a month have a skating party there

8pm to midnight PST/grid time

Shoutcast Tuner:

Walter Balazic now has a Shoutcast tuner that is auto updating, if the shoutcast stream is dead it will make it go away, it also has a searchable menu. It is full perm so you can take the scripts and use in an object of your choice. Contact Walter for a copy.

Inworld profiles:

We encourage you to complete your profiles, this is a good way to show new people coming here that we are an active grid of people. If you can please place a profile pic and a little about yourself, or add some picks. We have a photo booth at LIttlefield if you need a place to take a picture.

Trouble Tickets:

Please remember to log a ticket if you are having any issues on your regions or inworld, try not to wait for an Admin to come online, because we Admins have access to ticket emails even if we are not online. Here is the link to log a ticket. Link to Ticket Page By doing this it helps up track all issues, and see if there are any common issues that are arising on the grid.

Other News:

Open Collar Scripts: They are currently being worked on, we are aware there are some issues with collars ar the moment. Dirk is working hard to rectify the problems.

Walter has rezzed up a copy of Atropia – copy of the Moses Project, Military regions. We have combat meters now, but we need to set them up, more info to come on this. Please feel free to visit this region.

We have now a full list of PUBLIC regions, if you wish to add your region to this list, please let Toy McBride know by note card with a landmark to your region and she will add it to the list.

Adventure Clubs 1st tour…Christmas Region

Today we had our 1st tour as the newly created Adventure Club.  We met up at our shiny new club house..yes we have a club house 🙂  Once we arrived at the club house we were kitted out in our new Adventure Club outfits, thanks to Aaack, Ada & Amy hmmm 3 A’s well that’s a whole other story LOL.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yes smoking, drinking and laughter is allowed at the club house!!!  Everyone was looking fabulous in our club uniform…what was lacking was our booze hip flask..hopefully that will come soon, one needs booze when exploring new places.  Our explorers today were Dirk, Aaack, Ada, Amy, lilith, Bae & Camryn.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once we were all kitted out in our new gear we were ready to head of on our expedition to a place unknowm…The Christmas Region, what wild wonderful things would we find there?  What new trinkets would we bring back, and would we survive this expedition?

We boarded our plane for our destination, once over the island we parachuted to the ground and landed in this wondrous place which appeared to be a snow swept island.  Once we shed our parachute gear, we planted our flag to let those after us know that the Adventure Club had been there, we then gathered for our traditional group photo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We set out along pathway that led us to a strange creation, dressed in red with a white beard, what could this creature be?  We approached with caution, eyeing up the animal that appear to be guarding this creature, he seemed harmless enough, he beckoned us closes, we did so and we sat around him quietly (hmm ok maybe no so quiet) I managed to snap a picture before we had to quickly scurry away as he appeared to be getting angry with people sitting all over him. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We ran for our lives towards a clearing with bright lights, as we ran we the smell of food and wine wafted about the place, we came to a stop and there it was before our very eyes and wonderful setting, with tables, chairs and food, before I could say anything Ada pushed me out of the way and ran to the table to feast upon the delightful pickings.  As we watched Ada gorge upon the food we wandered about the place, some of the team danced atop the tables, some sipped wine from the crystal glasses…while others..not mentioning any names..Aaaack….sat upon the food!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We filled our pockets with what we could from the table, Ada had now finished gorging herself, we spied a clearing in the distance we made our through the thick snow, we we discovered a ice lake with a huge tree decorated with lights and such.  Aaack climbed his way up this wondrous tree making it to the very top and sat upon it like an angel with wings spread wide!!! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We walked upon the ice treading carefully so as to not crack it, we spied upon the hill a castle, what treasures did this castle hold?  We made our way into the castle and discovered a family of little people, elves, that appeared to be creating items of some festive nature.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We left the happy little creatures to continue their work and made our way through the snow covered forest, we then came upon a vehicle with animals tethered to it we climb on the vehicle then quite by sudden we were lifted into the air flying high above the island, from here we could see just how beautiful it was, a place full of snow, colour and wonder.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After our ride was over, we landed safely on the ground again, from the sky i spied a area that look cosy and inviting, I gathered the team and we headed to this spot, here we found a warm fire, comfy chairs and hot cocoa, so there we sat and talked of our adventure.

 

 

Diving Tour of Atlantis Region

Exploring grids can be fun, but what is even more fun is to explore in a group and that is exactly what we did Saturday 9th November on the new Atlantis region.  We all met up at Atlantis landing point where everyone was kitted out with their diving equipment..thanks to Ada Wong :). I created Atlantis diving region a couple of months ago, I had the best time creating this region, and thankfully I had found some great resources using Arcadia Asylum(Aley Arai) creations.  The region is mainly water apart from a small island where you can pick up diving equipment and some of the items from Arcadia.

We set out on our tour of the underwater with great gusto, I have to say it was the best time, my belly at the end hurt from laughing so much.  We ended the tour sitting on the Kraken Monstor and their we took inspiration from Pathfinder Lester and his Adventure Group, so we decided to create a mini LFgrid group where we thought what a fabulous way to get together as a group once a month and tour regions on our own grid.  Thank you Pathfinder for the inspiration to do this 🙂

So we hope to do this the first Saturday (PST/grid time) of each month. The next adventure will be touring our Christmas region and exploring all the wonders there

Classifieds & search – if you have a store or public sim please remember do make a classified for each of them so people can find you when they do a search in classifieds. “Show in search” has some bugs right now, and doing a classified in LFgrid is FREE.

How to do a classified – in about land type in keywords in land description – then whilst you are on the sim or in the store go to your profile then click on the “classified” tab then hit the little + symbol at the bottom and your plot will come up then click on publish. (these are instructions for Firestorm viewer, it may differ on other viewers).

To search classifieds click on the “search” button then click on the “classifieds” tab then you can search there for a word eg: mesh and anyplace that has mesh will show up, this is why keywords need to be entered in to about land description. If you have any questions please let me know 🙂

1st Annual Littlefield Grid Halloween Party

Happy Halloween!!!

Tonight is our 1st annual Halloween party on our new grid.  When we were on another grid, we had a seasonal Halloween region that we would rezz up for Halloween, so this is the first time we’ve had it up and running on LFgrid.  We had a wonderful array of costumes at the dance.

OpenSimulator Community Conference 2013 – Part 1

First day of the conference – Saturday September 7th 2013

With much excitement we gathered in keynote areas on OpenSimulator Community Conference grid, where we listened and watched the very first OS Community Conference.  I wasn’t sure what to expect at this event, or how it would play out, but I have to say I enjoyed it very much.  It was very interesting to see so many people from around the various virtual worlds gather in one place.

It commenced with conference open & welcome with a panel of speakers, then moving on to Keynote Panel, The Future of OpenSimulator.  Sadly after this part of the program I had to log out for the night, Australian time zone can be harsh in the virtual world.

What I can report on though is Littlefield Grid’s OSCC13 dance party held at Speakeasy region on LFgrid.  We had a fabulous turnout from the grid’s community plus some visitors from other grids, we were also lucky to have some of the keynote speakers attend the dance.  Thank you all for attending our celebration for OSCC13, we hope you enjoy your visit to our grid.
